If a candle is going straight onto your skin, "what's actually in it?" is a completely fair question — and one we think deserves a specific, transparent answer rather than a vague "natural ingredients" claim on a product page.

Why Soy Wax Is the Base

Our candles are built on a soy wax base rather than paraffin. Soy wax burns at a lower, skin-safe temperature, which is precisely what makes it possible to use the melted pool directly on skin — paraffin burns significantly hotter and isn't formulated or safe for that kind of skin contact. Soy wax is also plant-derived and biodegradable, unlike paraffin, which is a petroleum by-product.

The Nourishing Oils

The Signature Melt Collection is infused with skin-conditioning oils blended directly into the wax formula, chosen specifically to leave hands feeling moisturised rather than simply coated. This is the specific formulation difference between a standard soy candle and one genuinely designed to double as a hand treatment — not every soy candle is formulated or tested for skin contact, which is why we're specific about the collection this applies to.

Fragrance, Done Thoughtfully

Fragrance oils are blended at a concentration calibrated for both scent throw and skin comfort — strong enough to fill a room, gentle enough for direct skin contact. We deliberately avoid synthetic fragrance loads that prioritise scent intensity over skin safety.

What We Leave Out

Just as important as what's included is what isn't: no paraffin, no synthetic dyes, and no phthalates in our fragrance formulations.
